It seems like I can’t help it. Everyday I check the box scores in gleeful anticipation of miraculous performances and triumphant articles. And everyday I am deflated. Tomorrow I will do it again. This time next year, most probably, I will still be doing it. I am, after all, a Cubs fan.
Yes, they won yesterday… and struck out their former flame of glory (Sammy Sosa) three times. That was nice. But… alas… they are still six games under .500.
