Several people have made dramatic changes to their lives in the last couple months. And it was pointed out to me that I don’t share nearly enough of these personal stories on this website. Sorry about that! Here I am so encouraged by the love Jesus is giving others and the work that God is doing… and I’m not telling you about it. It’s time to start sharing more of these stories! A few weeks ago, I had the honor of praying with a friend- as he invited Jesus into his life… and some other friends as they sought God’s help in some addictions… and other friends as they looked to God for discernment and direction. It’s such a privelege to follow Jesus and watch him change lives!
So today you’ll read an amazing letter that just arrived in the mail from a remarkable woman here in Calgary. Many Jesus Followers were a part of her story- to the glory of God. Her name and some personal info has been omitted, but you’ll still see the life change happening here:
Dear Pastor Ken,
It has been a year since you came to [see me] and listened to my story of the last ten years of my life which I hadn’t revealed to anyone until that day. I would like to thank you for listening to me without judgment because if you ad any hint of judgment on your face I think I would have closed the door in my pursuit of knowing God.
You gave me a list of counselors and I chose [one of them] and on my second visit to her office I gave my life to Jesus. The battle has been fierce but I can say I feel free from the foothold satan had in my life.
The changes God has done in my life within a year are wonderful and I know he has a firm hold on me and he won’t let me go. 2 Corinthians 12:9 has been most significant through this year.
I was baptized on Easter Sunday and the gratitude I feel for all the people God put in my life to get me to that point is tremendous. So thank you for the part you played.
