So I got up today a bit earlier. I beat the alarm clock! With a bit more determination, with a bit better of an attitude, I made oatmeal with a bit more joy this morning. It's hard to admit that I can be a grump… but that's what I was yesterday morning. (Don't believe me? Read my rant.) So this morning I'm meditating on these words from Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT)- not as a brainwashing technique, but as a preparation for how to live today:
"Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you have learned from me and heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you."
