It’s Grad Day, Grad Day! We We We so excited!

127410-simple-black-square-icon-people-things-hat-graduation In honor of all the graduates out there, I started exploring the minds of cutting edge cultural philosophers, looking for wisdom and advice to share with you on this momentous occassion.  After some dramatic searching, however, I kept coming back to one particular current cultural icon, who has captured the voice of an emerging generation.  And so I wondered, if she were given the opportunity to write a commencement speech for you today, what might Rebecca Black have to say?  Well, maybe something like this – Please enjoy this cheesy tribute to all my favorite grads of 2011:

Its Grad Day, Grad Day  /  Gotta cross the stage on Grad Day /  Everybody’s been lookin’ forward to this weekend, weekend  /  Grad Day, Grad Day /  Getting a degree on Grad Day  /  For 4, 5 or 6 years we’ve been lookin’ forward to this weekend, weekend

2:45, we’re hanging in the gym  /  Gotta be fresh, gotta walk up those stairs  / Gotta have my diploma, gotta have my degree  /  Seein’ everything, the time isn't goin’  / Tickin’ on and on, the speaker isn't rushin’  /  Gotta cross the stage  /  Gotta tired butt, I see my friends (My friends)

Kickin’ in the front seat  /  Sittin’ in the back seat  /  Didn’t have to make my mind up  /  I was told which seat I should take

Undergrad, Undergrad, (yeah)  /  Undergrad, Undergrad, (yeah)  /  Fun, fun, think about fun  /  You know what it is  /  I got this, you got this  /  My friend is by my right  /  I got this, you got this  /  Now you know it  /  Yesterday was School Day, School Day  /  Today i-is Grad day, Grad day  /  We-we-we so excited  /  We so excited  /  We gonna have a degree today

Tomorrow is Job Day  /  And the rest of our life comes after…wards  / We don’t want this weekend to end
