I'm heading south to Des Moines for Ignite-Youth, a student leadership conference hosted by Jonathon Meyer at Grace Church. Honored to be a part of this great day along with some good friends.
Crown College's Bret Hyder (perhaps the coolest guy ever in Minnesota) and I will be representing Crown… But the highlight of this conference personally will be having my 14 year-old son Zach along to take part. So pumped that he's getting old enough to join me in some of these great opportunities. Zach's going to get a chance to bump elbows with some inspirational people… and then try to keep his Dad on track (which is a difficult task for anyone).
Equipping young people is an incredibly high venture. So I'm honored to be leading two quick workshops similar to the ones I've facilitated this year at CCC-Omaha and at the Simply Youth Ministry Conference (Indianapolis). The first workshop on Saturday, which is geared for youth workers, concerns passing on faith and leadership to the next generations (Generational Transference). The second workshop, which is open to both youth workers and to students, walks through my "Grow Down" material. Looking forward to the catalytic conversations that should stem from these discussions.
