Study Guide – Psalm 86:1-4

Psalm86-1-4

1 Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you. NLT

List all of the action that David, the writer of this psalm, requests of the Lord in verses 1-4?

What do you imagine it means for the Lord to “bend down” to us?

What other actions that David requests of the Lord stand out to you personally?

How would your daily routines change if you were to pray these four verses every morning as you awake?

::::: APPLICATION CHALLENGE :::::

If you could request the Lord to take action in your life right now, what would you ask God to do? Take a moment to pray this way.
