Reminded About Youth Ministry

As we wrap up our 8th and prepare for our 9th and 10th versions of NEXT, I have been reminded about youth ministry a lot lately.

I have been reminded about how rejuvenating it is that older generations invest in youth.

I have been reminded about how life-changing simple words of affirmation can be.

I have been reminded about what can happen when young people are empowered to change the world.

I have been reminded about how much Jesus focuses-on, prepares-for, and believes-in young people.

As my friend Tim Eldred likes to say, the goal isn’t “youth ministry”, but “youth IN ministry”. By his Spirit, Jesus releases young people to lead movements of change. As Jesus works in their lives, they do this with their unadulterated passion and un-compromised vision.
